(1952 August 14, preparing to go to Boston)

You know I have been home so constantly these past years it is an increasing effort for me to get ready to go anywhere. I have to sew [for MM] ... tend to Daddy's stuff - all those shirts must be ready but those he takes off, underwear etc. And then myself - and the house - all those arrangements. It is bad enough when one of the family leaves, but when I go it is so very difficult to see to all. If this gets too complicated, I may have to give it up after all. Nerves!!!
