A book report

(1953 April 15)

Tuesday V called to say we were having a hurry-up meeting of Music Club Friday (instead of the 3rd Friday of the month) and would I have my book report? Wow! I got to work and started reading and taking notes. My back ached.... Sometimes I would read a chapter before getting up. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday I retired at 7:30 so I wouldn't hear the radio.... I never did get good notes on last part. But I did rout out old sheet music and weave it in. Also old records. The business meeting etc. lasted till 3:30, when I began and talked little over an hour. I was generously applauded. They just ate up the old sheet music with pix of I. Berlin years ago - George Gershwin - Mae West's name - the Castles. I learned a lot and it was fun. But such a rush.

[She never states the title of the book or the subject of the talk.]
