(1993 February 9)
Had a man here with animals - a white rabbit, a cat, a goat. Margaret Scott stopped in later and said she didn't go. They never had animals at home, and she thot they might hurt her.

Creamed
(1993 February 8)
Bill took me to doctor today, and he [the doctor] saw rash on ankle. I took along creams I had, and he said they were just the ticket; no $ for medicine was needed.

Foresight
(1993 January 22)
Let's say I am busy writing - Helen [new roommate] may say, "Are you going to dinner?" Me: "Yes, in an hour, when it's announced." She: "I mean then." Me: "Yes, then I will go." She: "Can I walk with you?" Me: "Of course."

Jacob's ladder
(1993 January 1)
Today we had a New Year's Party in the Dining Room and funny hats and eats and games, and I won 2 4" candy canes by answering it was angels going up and down the ladder to heaven (old Sunday School teacher). I sat next to Margaret Scott on a metal folding chair.

Grace
(1993, first Sunday in January)
The first thing to get in your head at a place like this [Schmitt Home] is that you are not the boss. Breakfast is at 7:30, and if you are not there, why aren't you? A nurse may be called in. Are you ill? So today I had a big breakfast and came back and got in bed. Not long before a rustle. Me: "Hello!" - "It's Grace, Polly. I will make the bed. Don't worry. Well, there are so many of them that wet the bed and try to cover it up - I was just checking." - "Goodbye, Grace." She goes on to say, "Have a good day if you can."
